Customer Review: Boy, what a worthless book on brown nose techniques. One idea that is plain garbage is that if you do lots for other people they will pay back in kind by 2 to 10 fold. What garbage. Please do not waste your money on this book. I cannot believe the nonsense. After you give all you got to people after they see you have nothing left they will just move on. Boy, are these writers living in a dream world? It is a book about suck up that will just make you look like a fool. If I used most of their methods I would be a laughing stock at work. Those who exceed step on other faces, that is how it really works. My rating is really a minus 10 stars but they do not have that rating available. If I could I would return the book but it is probabbly better I burn it so there is one less copy available for some simple minded soul to read. If you want to be exploited and left holding the bag then read this book..

Customer Review: This book was a great help in finding a doctor, and I found a new site to Find a Doctor called AppointmentNet that goes well with this book - it's the only place on the web that I have found that you can find a doctor, schedule an appointment, request prescriptions, and ask doctors questions. You can only do these things with member doctors, but you can at least search and get contact info for all doctors in the US. Their search was easy to use, and only took me 3 clicks to get the most relevant results for me. I was also able to save my favorite searches and favorite doctors in my account. I think this site makes a great companion to this book, and should be used in conjunction with the doctor selection advice from the book.

Customer Review: I have been using this book in my search for a PCP. One thing that stricks me as odd is the lack of consistency from year to year. One thing I'd expect of a top doctor is that he or she would be nominated year after year but after siting down in the library with multiple aditions not quite half the doctors are represented for multiple years. Also as another reviewer noted there is little about bed side manner. My current PCP has been in every adition of the book yet I want to switch becuase I'm not comfortable with his bedside manner. I've seen 2 physicians out of this book and I continue to look.

Customer Review: A quick cheap paperback written to cash in on two unique mid-1980s American phenomena -- the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books, and "Doctor Who".
(By way of introduction, The "Find Your Fate" series seems to fetishize action-adventure heroes. The ads at the back of "Search for the Doctor" advertise similar "Find Your Fate" stories featuring G.I. Joe and James Bond. These were written by R.L. "Goosebumps" Stine, to boot.)
"Search" is authored (in the loosest sense of the word) by David Martin, who wrote several DW TV adventures in the '70s. It also makes no sense. From Los Angeles in the year 2056 (why?), to a space lab called "FERN" (indee), to the return of villains from two different Martin-penned DW serials (all the better with which to lure first-time readers, no doubt), "Search" is a boring and confusing morass. The Doctor is hardly to be seen, there's hardly any decision-making to be had, and the story only has one successful conclusion.
Basically, as both a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure, and as a Doctor Who story, "Search for the Doctor" fails gloriously. It's easy to see why they didn't print too many more of these. And why copies are so hard to find. If you should see one, save your fifty cents and call your mom instead.
